Jennifer Lopez Just Brought Back *This* Retro Hair Trend & We’re Here for It

Jennifer Lopez is rocking a new fall look. And we’re making an appointment with our stylist ASAP.

Not only is she bringing back the popular shag haircut trend, but she also has some new bangs. The actress’s go-to hairstylist Chris Appleton shared a photo of the new cut on his Instagram page and made it clear that this was no wig. “@jlo got bangs today,” he captioned the gorgeous shot of the 51-year-old.

In the photo, J-Lo topped off the retro hairstyle (and are those honey-colored highlights we see?) and choppy bangs with blue eyeshadow that beautifully matched her ensemble.

Her stylist, Mariel Haenn, also shared some glamorous shots of Lopez.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the singer with bangs recently. Late last month, she showed off a set of curtain bangs (which were ultimately fake) when she debuted her new music videos, "Pa' Ti" and "Lonely." “Hair has such a big part of the storytelling," Appleton told Vogue about all the different styles. “The hairstyle enables you to believe who that person is or what situation she's in—it was a lot of fun.” We guess she liked them enough to opt for the real deal.

As for the style, shag haircuts were majorly trending last fall with celebs like Anne Hathaway and Sarah Hyland going for the chop. And it’s easy to see why Lopez decided to make the switch.

Shag for fall? Count us in.
