Jennifer Garner Gets Candid About Her Go-To Mother’s Day Tradition: ‘It’s Getting Harder’

Jennifer Garner is sharing details about her frame-worthy Mother’s Day tradition.

The Yes Day star, 49, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PureWow, where she talked about her three children: Violet (15), Seraphina (12) and Samuel (9). While discussing her Mother’s Day plans, Garner opened up about their annual ritual, which is “getting harder” as the kids get older.

“All three sit on my lap for a picture on Mother’s Day, and it’s definitely getting bigger,” she told PureWow. “I don’t think you can even see that I’m in there anymore, but I don’t care. We’re doing it, so it’s kind of what I live for.”

When asked how she gets all three kids to sit still for a photo, Garner responded, “They don’t object at all. It’ Mother’s Day. They’re not allowed.” Touché.

Garner is currently promoting her partnership with Walmart, which is celebrating moms for the entire month. From May 6 to May 9, the store will host Mother’s May Market, an outdoor craft fair where families can gather, explore and make special gifts. Although it will be held at 32 Walmart Supercenters across the nation (find your nearest location here), the templates and instructions for each activity are available to download online.

“Every [participating store] is going to take their parking lot or their sidewalk, and they're going to transform them into an outdoor market, where families can make homemade cards for mom to give to her on Mother’s Day,” Garner explained. “The things that moms cherish forever as they’re falling apart, like a little Popsicle frame, egg carton flowers and simple things like a fingerprint magnet. But the fun thing is they’re free. It’s all free.”

Garner even shared a foolproof tip for moms, adding, “Here’s the bonus: You can send dad with the kids out to the parking lot to make you cute things, while you go in and get your shopping done. You can shop and have it delivered or pick it up, and then you are just off at home doing your own thing, but dad is out with the kids making you something.”

We’re totally stealing Garner’s Mother’s Day tradition.
