Jennifer Garner is giving a special shoutout to kids and parents who are starting the new school year—complete with an iconic throwback photo.
The 13 Going on 30 star, 51, shared a rare childhood pic to her Instagram, where she is seen posing in an embroidered jumper while rocking the classic bowl cut. In the caption, Garner said, "Happy back to school, everyone, from kindergarten Jen in her homemade and hand embroidered jumper. Featuring a necklace earned by practicing piano."
The actress added, "Congratulations, Mamas, and they’re so big xxxx."
In the headshot, Garner is all smiles as she rocks a white collar shirt and a dark jumper. But we can't take our eyes off of her pageboy cut—a short hairstyle that became a major trend in the mid-1970s and 1980s. In the comments, one fan wrote, "Omg love the hair—I had a 'Dorothy Hamill' type cut myself!!! Rockin 70's hairdos!!!" Another said, "Love the beautiful jumper and that cute smile!"
This isn't the first time Garner has given her followers a glimpse into her childhood. In 2021, the star posted a throwback of herself striking a yoga pose. And sure enough, she's seen rocking the exact same hairstyle.
In the pic, which got over 237,000 likes, Garner looks ready to take on a yoga class as she poses on a gymnastics mat on a back deck. She wrote, "A little namaste for your flashback Friday."
In response, one fan said in the comments, "Jennifer…you still look exactly the same as in this picture…you bring sunshine and joy that you touch in your IG." Another added, "I had that same hair. We ALL had that same hair! God bless our moms."
Another flashback worth mentioning? Her unforgettable $8 near-mullet haircut—which she still managed to pull off with her charming smile. In the post, which she shared in 2020, Garner joked, "#SometimesThe8DollarHaircutWorked #SometimesItDidnt."
