Jane Fonda Just Had a Cancerous Growth Removed, but She’s Still Smiling
Jane Fonda revealed she just had a cancerous growth removed from her lower lip on this morning’s Today show.
The Grace & Frankie star brushed off the cancer scare with a dismissive hand wave and casually told the show’s hosts, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, “I had a little cancer.” We wouldn’t handle it quite as calmly, but props.
The 80-year-old Oscar winner also visited AOL’s Build interview series on Monday with a bandage on her lip and explained, “I just had a cancer taken from my lip. I thought it was going to heal in time before I came to you, but it’s fine. I just want to explain it. I don’t normally go around like this…I’m going to be fine.”
Fonda continued to keep her spirits high and posted a photo of her and costar Lily Tomlin posing on Instagram. She captioned the snap, “With Lily in NY. I’ve found a clever way to disguise my lip bandage from removal of cancer.”
Way to keep a positive attitude, Jane!
