Forget Amazon Wish Lists: Instagram Just Added 3 New Shopping Features
Not sure about you, but we're on Instagram an average of seven hours a week, most of which is spent ogling the pretty plaid blazer and over-the-knee boots our favorite influencer just posted, or the dreamy Mansur Gavriel pink plush coat we can't stop drooling over. And it just got a whole lot easier to shop directly from the social media app, thanks to three new updates that launched today. Ready, set, shop 'til you drop (your phone)!
You already save cool decor posts and dreamy wedding inspo to your collections via the little bookmark icon on the bottom right of a post. Now, Instagram has added a shopping collection feature. Think of these as your ultimate wish lists for things you scroll past on your feed. And the prices in these collections are kept up to date, so when something goes on sale, you'll know by accessing your shopping collection via your own profile. Huzzah for Black Friday sales!
Shopping in Videos
You've been able to click on products from in-feed posts (oh, hello, gorgeous red silk Tanya Taylor dress), but now you can shop in-feed videos, too. Just tap the shopping icon in the bottom left corner to reveal the featured products and learn more about them (and add them to your collection, you tech-savvy lady, you).
Business Profile Shopping Tabs
There are more than 25 million business profiles on Instagram, and more than 80 percent of all users say they follow one (it’s more like 500 for us, TBH). So it makes sense that the app would pay special attention to the look and feel of brands’ shopping tab. When you click a business profile, tap on the “shop” button to see their products, such as the item name, price and the post featuring the item.
