Thanks to HBO, we definitely have something to look forward to this spring.
The premium cable channel did us a solid today and dropped the first teaser for season four of Insecure, also revealing the next season of the hit show is set to premiere this April. (Yaass!) HBO renewed the series last year but has played coy about when it will return to our Sunday night lineup until now.
In the teaser, we see Issa (played by creator and star Issa Rae) doing her thing and dancing in the mirror while trying on various professional outfits. Does this mean she’s moving forward in getting her Block Party idea off the ground or is she back on the interview circuit trying to land another (better fitting) nonprofit gig?
As per usual, Issa spits a seriously catchy rap while trying on her assorted power suits and pencil skirts…until her dropping it low leads her to rip her boardroom-ready skirt’s seam. Whoops. She shrugs it off and says her assets are just getting bigger—perhaps because she ditched Nathan (Kendrick Sampson) and is living in happy cohabitation bliss with Lawrence (Jay Ellis)? We hope so.
Rae shared the news on Instagram, above, captioning the teaser, “It’s 2020, soooo... Season 4?” Our answer? Yes, please.
The season four episode order has grown this time around. Seasons one through three were all comprised of eight episodes, but season four will include ten. You know what that means—plenty more fun and awkward moments.
Yep, now we’re counting down the days until Insecure returns on Sunday, April 12 at 10 p.m. on HBO.
