Hilary Swank, 48, is about to be a new mom, and it turns out that her due date is quite a special one.
The Million Dollar Baby actress revealed that she was pregnant for the first time (and with twins!), on Instagram this past Wednesday, October 5.
In a series of photos, which Swank stitched together for a video, she was seen pointing to her growing baby bump and smiling. The caption of her post read, “Coming soon…DOUBLE feature!” She also included two emojis of baby angels.
However, there's even more excitement involved with the Logan Lucky star's pregnancy. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Swank divulged that her twins are actually due on the day of her late father's birthday.
This connection was made when Barrymore said to Swank, “You just announced that your father has passed away one year ago and this miracle is happening.” To which Swank responded, “Yeah and they are due on his birthday.”
When Barrymore's jaw dropped (we feel the same way, Drew), Swank said, “Yeah, I know.”
Swank recently shared her excitement about being a mom while visiting Good Morning America. During her appearance, the 48-year-old star said, “This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time, and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom. And not just of one, but of two. I can’t believe it.”
At a later stop on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Swank confirmed that twins actually run in her family, and she said, “It’s such a blessing. It’s a total miracle. It’s unbelievable.”
The Oscar-nominated star commemorated the passing of her father, Stephen Michael Swank, only a few days before sharing her pregnancy news. She posted a video to Instagram that compiled videos of the late Air Force Master Sergeant, and in her caption, Swank wrote, “I can’t believe it’s been a year since you’ve transitioned. You are missed beyond measure and forever in my heart. [heart emoji].”
She couldn't have asked for a more special due date. Congrats, Hilary!
