Disney Is Developing a Live-Action ‘Hercules’ Movie & We Think Ariana Grande Should Play Meg

Hercules is the latest nostalgic movie to join Disney’s pageantry of live-action remakes.

The studio is reportedly developing an all-new adaptation of the 1997 classic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will be (re)written by Dave Callaham, who is currently partnered with Disney on Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings.

The original Hercules movie told the story of a young god in training, who goes head-to-head against Hades (aka the god of the underworld). Although Disney hasn’t revealed any casting details, we wouldn’t be surprised if Ariana Grande goes the distance to ensure her involvement. (Sorry, had to.)

Earlier this month, the 26-year-old singer posted a video on Instagram of herself singing “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” from Hercules. Since then, fans haven’t been shy about expressing their interest in Grande reprising the role of Meg.

Susan Egan (who voiced the character in the animated movie) even tweeted to Grande and revealed that she “couldn’t be more perfect” for the part. She wrote, “@ArianaGrande is the greatest thing since the pocket in pita!”

Of course, it’s important to point out that Disney hasn’t confirmed any Hercules news related to Grande, but...c’mon, Disney—she already has the hairstyle on lock, let alone the interest in the role and talent to pull it off.
