HBO Just Released the Trailer for the ‘Game of Thrones’ Documentary—and We Get a Glimpse of Dany’s Final Scene

We're not ready for this, you guys.

HBO just released a trailer for their highly anticipated recap-style documentary about the epic HBO series Game of Thrones...and it's going to be every bit as mind-blowing, poignant and tear-filled as we imagined.

The documentary, appropriately titled The Last Watch, was announced in March and will be released a week after the season eight finale, on Sunday, May 26. The new trailer opens with a D.B. Weiss voiceover as we see shots of the actors (including Kit Harington) getting very emotional over the scripts: "This is strange," Weiss muses. (Yeah, that about sums up our feelings over episodes four and five, actually...)

Game of Thrones: The Last Watch will have a two-hour runtime and cover season eight production, but looks like it is so much more than that. From the trailer, we get a glimpse of the oft-discussed final table read that "ended in tears," the set making of King's Landing, the production of the massive Battle of Winterfell, and "Emilia's last shot," according to the voiceover. (Welp, we guess we saw that coming...)

In a press release, HBO said, "Much more than a 'making of' documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world—and then have to say goodbye to it."

The flick, directed by Jeanie Finlay, will chronicle the most expensive, complicated and epic season yet. It was made "with unprecedented access" and "is an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production, following the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers."

Someone send a raven to Bran. We need to know if we'll even have the strength to watch this after the finale.
