Hannah Brown Named the Next Bachelorette (and Here’s Who Got the First Rose)

Colton Underwood has officially given out his final rose on season 23 of The Bachelor. (It’s over already? *sob*) Typically, we brace ourselves for major withdrawal as an inevitable hiatus stretches on for weeks—but this time, ABC is surprising us with a brand-new, back-to-back season of The Bachelorette.

Last night, Hannah Brown—Miss Alabama 2018 and a former contestant eliminated from season 23—was named the next Bachelorette. Shortly after the announcement, the host revealed that Hannah’s season of The Bachelorette is beginning…right now! After bringing in props to transform the studio into the Bachelor mansion, Harrison introduces her to five contestants, including Luke, Luke (yep), Dustin, Cam and Conner.

When Harrison joins her onstage, Hannah admits that she’s so happy with the selection, she could hand out a rose right this second. Since there are no rules, the host scrambles to arrange an impromptu rose ceremony for the new Bachelorette. (Was this staged? Probably. Did we love it anyway? Obviously.)

“To those of you who don’t get this rose, I can’t wait to see you all back at the mansion and try harder,” Hannah says before giving the rose to Cam. “In all seriousness, y’all are great…I don’t know what I’m doing.”

But wait, there’s more. When Hannah pins the rose on Cam’s jacket, Harrison is quick to point out that she never asked him to accept the rose. So, she takes it off and awkwardly says, “Cam, would you like to accept this rose?”

Welp, we’ll get there eventually. Season 15 of The Bachelorette will premiere on Monday, May 13, at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Here’s How You (or Your Single Friend) Can Be a Contestant on Season 24 of ‘The Bachelor’
