Halle Berry Looked Marvelous in Mauve at Oscars (& She Also Debuted a Fab New 'Do)

There were lots of stunners on the Oscars red carpet this year. Whether it was shimmering gold gowns or navy blue suits, each star brought their A-game.

However, one of the best looks was provided by Halle Berry, who showed up in a lavish Dolce and Gabbana gown, along with a bold new 'do.

The Catwoman actress strolled the red carpet in a bright orchid-colored dress, featuring a sweetheart neckline and a giant bow decorating the front. While posing in the pastel gown, Berry held up the sheer layers to show the scalloped edges of the fabric.

But the showstopping look wasn't all that Berry brought to the red carpet. She also turned heads with her stark new haircut. The 54-year-old actress had clipped off her locks to reveal a sharp bob with baby bangs. Berry teased the microbob cut on her Instagram story, where she posted the pile of her discarded trimmings.

Fans on Twitter were obsessed with the look, like user @futureasmuse, who said: "@halleberry woke up and chose to give the world everything she’s got with this dress. Ethereal! And I also dig the hairdo." Another user said, "WE SEE YOU QUEENING @halleberry LUV LUV LUV the hair do & the GORGEOUS Gown."

Halle Berry won an Academy Award back in 2002 for her stirring performance in Monster's Ball (where she rocked a memorable Elie Saab gown with flower embellishments).

It seems Berry owns the red carpet no matter what she wears.
