Major congratulations are in order for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. The couple of five years is officially engaged!
The duo shared the exciting news on social media on Tuesday, with the pop singer showing off her new ring in a sweet photograph. “@blakeshelton yes please!” Stefani wrote alongside the snap on her personal Instagram account.
Of course, Shelton shared his own post on Twitter. “Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!” he captioned the image.
According to E! News, the engagement took place in Oklahoma. However, details surrounding the proposal have yet to be made public at this point in time.
ICYMI: The duo met on the set of The Voice in 2014 when Stefani replaced Christina Aguilera as a coach during her maternity leave. However, things didn’t turn romantic until 2015 when he finalized his divorce with Miranda Lambert. Their relationship was confirmed that October when they were spotted showing PDA at Maroon 5’s Halloween party.
Since then, there has been an endless swirling of rumors about when and if the couple was going to take the next step in their relationship. In May 2019, Ellen DeGeneres even gifted Shelton a “countdown to a proposal” clock, featuring his and Stefani’s faces. Hey, looks like it worked.
And while they have no kids together, Stefani shares three children with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale: Kingston, Zuma and Apollo who are said to have a wonderful relationship with the country singer.
