Ceramic black cats. Faux-amputated feet. Halloween decor is notoriously, well, ugly. Which is why we're always searching for decorating ideas that are actually attractive (in their own creepy way). All of which brings us to the exciting discovery of the "goth succulent."

As Bustle reportsRomper writer Jamie Kenney coined the term while vacationing in Maui and spotting an unusual black succulent growing in the terrain. Friends, we did some research—and it turns out said succulent is a variety called Aeonium Arboreum Alropurpureum or Black Rose "Zwartkon". And you don't have to go to Hawaii's remote reaches to find them—you can order online. With their spiky, ominous shape and purply-black hue, they make a chic yet spooky addition to your Halloween decorating efforts. (For realsies—we can't wait to sprinkle these guys down our tablescape in lieu of pumpkins.)
