It’s been more than two months since Gigi Hadid confirmed that she’s expecting her first child with her longtime boyfriend, Zayn Malik. And now, the mom-to-be, 25, is giving the people what they want: a glimpse of her baby bump.
Yesterday, Hadid filmed a candid Instagram Live video, which—much to our delight—was later shared on social media. During the clip, the model opens up about why she originally chose to keep the baby a secret and even pans the camera down to debut her pregnant belly.
“There’s my belly, y’all,” she says.
Hadid proceeds to unbutton her shirt and turn to the side, so fans can get a better view of her baby bump. “Like it’s there, it’s just from the front it’s different,” she adds.
The model goes on to address her surprise baby announcement and explains why she chose to keep it a secret for so long, claiming it’s “not the most important thing going on in the world.”
“That’s a reason that I felt that it’s not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends. Obviously, a lot of people have lost lives due to [the] coronavirus that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening,” Hadid says. “And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that.”
Hadid concludes the video by thanking fans for their unconditional support, adding, “I’m so grateful for the positive comments and the questions and wanting just to know that we’re all good and safe and everything’s going great and I love you guys. I do appreciate those positive comments.”
