Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis Pose With Giant Dog. Cuteness Overload Ensues
A new photo of the royal kids? Cute. A new photo of the royal kids with a dog? Hellooo.
Earlier in the month, the Cambridges attended a polo match, and a new photo shared by the Army in London surfaced just in time for George’s 6th birthday.
“The Army In London, including @irish_guards Wolfhound mascot Domhnall, is wishing HRH Prince George a very happy 6th birthday today. Our Soldiers are always on duty, ready to serve!” they wrote on Twitter.
In the photo, Prince William and Prince Louis (who looks less than pleased to be having his picture taken) hang in the background while Prince George and Princess Charlotte try to get as close to the massive dog as possible without touching it. Side-eye is involved.

Guys, can we talk about this dog for a second? His name is Domhnall (pronounced DOUGH-nall), and he’s a 7-year-old Irish wolf hound. He’s also the mascot for the Irish Guards, an Irish regiment within the royal army that guards the royal family. So he’s filling some big shoes (and not just literally).
According to E! News, the dog’s handler posted the photo on Instagram to show George some birthday love (the post seems to have been removed), with the caption, “Domhnall and the Irish Guards would like to wish HRH Prince George a very happy birthday.”
And good news for all of us, Domhnall has his own Instagram account, @irishguardmascot. While there aren’t that many posts (we already scrolled to the end), there are enough for us to ogle this newfound cutie. who, pardon us for saying, might be cuter than the Cambridge kids themselves.
