Gemma Chan is swiftly becoming one of our favorite leading ladies in Hollywood, in part because of her excellent work in Crazy Rich Asians (anyone else counting down to the sequel?) but also because of her incredible sense of style. However, what really sealed the deal for us was when we heard that Chan had brought perhaps the most relatable accessory imaginable to the 91st Academy Awards.

Chan combined two of the top trends of the night (shades of pink and loofah-inspired silhouettes) with her voluminous Valentino Haute Couture gown complete with every woman's favorite element: pockets. And what do you think she had stowed away in those pockets? Cookies. We kid you not.
In a post-show interview with Entertainment Tonight, Chan revealed that she had a chocolate chip cookie in one pocket and rice cakes in the other (though she ate those during the awards).
“It’s a long show and you don’t get dinner,” she explained, not that we think anyone needs a reason to hide treats in their pockets other than an uninhibited love of snacking.
After the video was posted to Twitter, Chan shared it with her fans, adding the comment “The hunger is real” along with a cookie emoji. You just keep doing you, Gemma, and thanks for the brilliant snack storage inspiration.
