OMG: HBO Just Confirmed a ‘Game of Thrones Reunion Is Happening, and Characters Will Be Brought Back from the Dead

Gather the troops, because a Game of Thrones reunion is coming. (*Cue hyperventilating*)

HBO confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly, who reported that a special featuring Conan O’Brien and myriad Game of Thrones actors was filmed in Belfast earlier this year.

The best part? A bunch of actors whose characters already died on the show will also be there, including actor Sean Bean (Ned Stark). It’s a rootin’ tootin’ real-life family reunion, y’all.

There’s only one catch: The special won’t air on HBO (or anywhere in Westeros, for that matter), but will instead be included in a special boxed set of seasons one through eight, meaning it’ll come out sometime next year after the final season airs in April 2019. Mother of ice and fire! That’s a long time.

No word yet on whether Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) will be reunited with his sun and stars, or whether Rose Leslie (Igritte the wildling) will have some choice words for Jon Snow’s new lover. But we know what we’re asking Santa for this year (even if our present is a bit delayed).

Yes, this truly is the best gift in the seven kingdoms.
