Revealed: ‘Game of Thrones’ 3rd Dragon Rider, and We Don't Like Him One Bit

Ever since Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) fire-breathing offspring hatched in season one, Game of Thrones fans have anticipated the grand reveal of two additional dragon riders. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Drogon flaunted their on-screen chemistry in season seven, episode five, and last night's episode,“Beyond the Wall,” revealed the Night King (Richard Brake) as the third prophesied dragon rider. Here, we break down why it makes perfect sense these three leaders are dragon wielders (despite how much our heart hurts from last night's revelation).

Daenerys Targaryen And Drogon

The Mother of Dragons and Drogon, named for her late husband, Khal Drogo, have been a perfect fit since conception. Drogon was the first of his litter to breathe fire on command and he's saved his mom from danger several times.

Jon Snow And Rhaegal

The King in the North hasn't gotten as cuddly with Rhaegal as Drogon, but their bromance is blossoming. Rhaegal was named for Daenerys's eldest brother, Rhaegar Targaryen, who is (unbeknownst to everyone) Jon Snow's biological father. Ew?
