Gabrielle Union Reveals the One Beauty Tip She’s Passing on to Her Daughter, Kaavia

Gabrielle Union, 50, is a master when it comes to all things beauty and fashion, so we bet she has lots of wisdom to pass down to her daughter Kaavia, 4, and stepdaughter, Zaya, 15. However, because Kaavia is only a toddler, she's not exactly putting on a full face of makeup every day. But in a new Instagram video, Union revealed the one beauty tip that she's instilled in Kaavia: drinking water.

The clip was posted to Union's Instagram account, as well as the page that she and her husband, Dwyane Wade, 41, run for their 4-year-old. In the video, the Bring It On actress is asked: “What is the top beauty tip that you're passing down to Kaav?” To which Union responds: “Water. My beauty tip is water and boundaries.”

The video then cuts to Union and her 4-year-old sitting in front of their piano at home, and it's clear that Kaavia really grasped the importance of drinking water.

In the clip, Kaavia says, “So you need to drink water. [It's] good, healthy...” She then jokingly adds, “Don't drink good juices every time.” When Union asks why she can't drink juice, the conversation slowly derails, and Kaavia starts talking about how her mom will turn into an Avatar (likely in a reference to the new movie, Avatar: The Way of Water). The 4-year-old also mentions Union's frequent stylist, Thomas Christos Kikis.

So, Union humorously summarized their conversation in her caption, where she wrote: “Moral to the story… water yourself, set boundaries, and uncle Thomas will dress you!”

However, while Kaavia knows to drink water, she's not totally into makeup. In the past, Union has posted comical photos of Kaavia (who she endearingly calls “Shady Baby”) giving side eye while a tiny bit of makeup was applied to her face.

Union posted one slideshow back in December 2021, which she captioned: “Not sure @kaaviajames sees the vision [laughing emojis].”
