Gabrielle Union Just Gave Us an Iconic ‘10 Things I Hate About You’ Moment in Vid with Stepdaughter Zaya

Gabrielle Union and her stepdaughter, Zaya Wade, are celebrating Pride month in style.

The pair did a Freaky Friday-type outfit switch in a video on Union's Instagram account, which also included a cheeky 10 Things I Hate About You reference along the way. In the clip, Union and Wade are seen sporting gorgeous black-and-white outfits (courtesy of Prada), before Union drops a bag and the two switch places thanks to an impressive transition, while Olivia Rodrigo's ‘Deja Vu’ plays in the background.

Union shared the video with a caption that said, “We like our Sketchers but we ❤ our #PradaGalleria bags. we ❤ #10ThingsIHateAboutYou #happypridemonth [rainbow emoji].”

The caption quotes one of the best lines from the movie, where Bianca, played by Larisa Oleynik, says, “There's a difference between like and love. Because, I like my Skechers, but I love my Prada backpack.” To which Union's character, Chastity, replies, “But I love my Skechers,” and Bianca says, “That's because you don't have a Prada backpack.”

The two were styled by Union's frequent collaborator Thomas Christos Kikis, who decked Union out in a pinstripe shirt, black shorts and a white robe, while Zaya sported a black nylon bandeau over a white button-up, paired with a midi skirt. But the pièce de résistance was the Prada Galleria Saffiano leather bag.

Fans were given a better look at their outfits in an earlier post from Union, who shared a slideshow of photos and said, “We do this ♥♥ @zayawade @prada #PradaGalleria #ad.”

Besides posing for stunning pics with her stepmom, Zaya, who is a transgender girl, has been celebrating the beginning of Pride month with her own messages of love and encouragement for other LGBTQ+ youth. She recently shared a message that said, “Be true to yourself. What is the point of being on this earth if you are trying to be some one that you're not...push through, and be the best you.”
