Will Netflix’s ‘Say I Do’ Return for Season 2? Chef Gabe Bertaccini Weighs In

If you haven’t already watched Netflix’s Say I Do, then, well, what are you waiting for? The feel-good show has become quite the sensation since it premiered earlier this month. In fact, we’re so into the reality series that helps a couple’s wedding dreams come true that we can’t stop thinking about one burning question: Will the popular wedding show return for another installment?

PureWow recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Gabe Bertaccini, aka the culinary expert on Say I Do. When asked about a season two renewal, the chef admitted that he hasn’t heard any official news, but he would do it again in a heartbeat.

“We have not heard, but we’ll see how the show does,” he told PureWow. “Listen, if they told me tomorrow, ‘Hey, you’re going to go back on the road to film season two,’ I would be right there because that show changed my life.”

Bertaccini went on to explain how Say I Do gave him a new perspective about love, adding, “It made me really rethink a lot of things in how I approach love. So, selfishly enough, I would do it all over again, mostly because I want to learn more.”

He continued, “I knew I was in for something special after we finished the first day. The most beautiful thing about the show is that it’s really not about me. It’s not about Jeremiah [Brent]. It’s about the couples and what they’re going through,” he explained. “Especially now more than ever, we all need to sit down and listen to other people’s stories and other people’s struggles and recognize them, so that we can grow closer.”

When asked if he keeps in contact with the couples from the show, Bertaccini immediately responded, “Yes. All of them.”

The chef revealed that the key to creating lasting relationships is to really understand each couple. “The first thing I do is sit down with the groom and the bride and try to understand, ‘OK, what is your story? Who are you? How did you grow up? What foods do you eat? What foods did you hate?” he said. “Once I understand all of that, it’s really about, ‘OK, how are we going to be respectful to your story and create a menu that tells everybody else at the wedding who you are and who you are as a couple?’”

Now all we need is for Netflix to renew Say I Do for season two. Tick-tock.
