1. When Is Firefly Lane Season 2 Set to Premiere?

Ever since part one of Firefly Lane season two premiered on Netflix on December 2, 2022, viewers have been anxiously waiting for the day when the streaming service would finally reveal the official release date for the second part. And now, that day has finally come. Earlier today, Netflix released the first-look teaser for part two. Toward the end of the sneak peek, the platform revealed that the final seven episodes will premiere on (drumroll, please) April 27.

2. Why Is Firefly Lane Not Returning for Season 3?

After Netflix confirmed that Firefly Lane season 2 will be the show’s last, many fans began to wonder why the series isn’t returning for a third season. Luckily, series showrunner Maggie Friedman sat down for an interview with Glamour and shared that she always intended for the story to be told in a two-season time frame.

“Originally, season two was just going to be ten episodes, but I was talking to one of the Netflix executives who’s been such a great champion of the show and said, ‘I know where the end of the story is, I know exactly what I want it to be. I just want to make sure that we get there and don’t end on a cliffhanger, and then something happens and we don’t complete it.’ I wanted to make sure that I got to tell the full story,” Friedman told the publication.

3. What Is Firefly Lane About?

If you haven’t watched the series or read the best-selling book by Kristin Hannah, first of all, shame on you. (Just kidding…sorta.) Second, the story spans the course of decades, following two lifelong best friends: Tallulah “Tully” Hart (Katherine Heigl) and Kate Mularky (Sarah Chalke). Think of Firefly Lane as a cross between Gilmore Girls, Sweet Magnolias and Virgin River (AKA three of our favorite things).

4. Who Is Returning for Firefly Lane Season 2 Part 2?

As fans say a final goodbye to Firefly Lane, viewers can expect to see some familiar faces return for the final installment. This includes Heigl as Tully, Chalke as Kate, Ben Lawson as Johnny Ryan, Beau Garrett as Cloud, Yael Yurman as Marah Ryan and Ignacio Serricchio as Danny Diaz.

5. Is There a Trailer?

Yes, yes and yes! The moment we’ve all been waiting for: The first look teaser premiered earlier today, and it offers a glimpse at what’s to come in the final installment. At the start of the teaser, Tully (who, as you may recall, goes to Antarctica to work on a documentary) is haunted by her falling out with Kate.

“Home hasn’t really felt the same since I lost my best friend,” Tully says in the teaser. When someone asks her to elaborate, she responds, “We just stopped speaking.”

April 27 can’t come fast enough.
