Greta Gerwig’s much anticipated Little Women is undergoing a changing of the guard Emmas.
Emma Stone (La La Land) was originally in talks to star in the buzzed-about remake, but alas, Emma Watson (Harry Potter films) will reportedly replace her.
According to Variety, Stone was forced to drop out of the film due to promotional obligations for her upcoming film, The Favourite. So, in the interest of all things Emma, Sony shifted gears and asked Watson to join the picture.
Watson’s role in the film hasn’t yet been confirmed, but she’s expected to play one of the March sisters. She’ll join Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird), Timothée Chalamet (Hot Summer Nights), Laura Dern (Big Little Lies) and Florence Pugh (Marcella), who are also in negotiations to star in the film.
