Emma Stone has sent the internet into a frenzy, fueling rumors that she secretly got hitched to her boyfriend of over two years, Dave McCary. Allow us to explain.
Appearing on the Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine YouTube channel, the 31-year-old actress spoke about being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder at a young age. However, it was the Zombieland star’s ring finger that really caught the attention of fans. While viewers expected to see Stone’s pearl engagement ring, they were surprised to find the actress rocking what appeared to be a gold wedding band instead.
And that wasn’t the only sign the two possibly tied the knot in quarantine. Later in the interview, a mental-health expert joked with Stone about marrying an anxious man. Her response? “Thankfully, I didn’t do that,” she said. Yup, didn’t as in past tense. We realize this speculation is just, well, speculation. Neither Stone nor McCary have confirmed or denied these rumors.
The Saturday Night Live writer revealed the news of his engagement to the La La Land actress in an Instagram post last December. Their nuptials were due to take place in March of this year, however, they were presumably postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Perhaps the couple went on with the wedding anyway and plans to schedule a reception after all of this over. Looks like we’re going to have to wait until someone spills the beans.
