Ever wonder how celebs seem to oscillate between bleach blonde and brown locks with seemingly no brassiness or breakage? Owners of Nine Zero One Salon and celebrity hair experts in their own right, Nikki Lee and Riawna Capri, explained during a Celebeauty Sit-Down with PureWow that it’s not genetics, it’s all about products.
Lee and Capri revealed to PureWow that they transitioned American Horror Story star Emma Roberts from boho sunrise blonde to 1984 brunette and Glee star Lea Michele to sunlight brunette in record time using their just-launched IN COMMON Beauty enhancers.
“The Mended Sea Strengthening Enhancer ($30) and Static Silk Smoothing Enhancer ($30) are perfect for maintaining the hair’s integrity in the midst of drastic color changes, like the ones we’ve done recently on Emma and Lea,” Lee explained. “The three-step system of the shampoo, enhancers and the mask really is the perfect combo for bombshell hair. The process is inspired by skin care, where the hair actually gets healthier with each use, and you can create a customized treatment for whatever your hair needs.”
The enhancers defend against frizz, breakage, split ends and soothe the scalp, so even if you’re not undergoing a drastic hair makeover, they can be beneficial. After shampooing, gently wring out excess water and spray the enhancer from roots to end. Layer on a hair mask, comb through and let it sit for three minutes before washing. It’s simple.
But Roberts and Michele aren’t the only ones who’ve become fans of IN COMMON’s new range. Capri shared, “Hilary Duff, Emma Roberts, Julianne Hough and Nina Dobrev were actually all involved in the IN COMMON Beauty process pre-launch. Because they are our friends, they give us honest quality feedback. Their support through this entire process has meant so much to us.”
Lee added, “They’re obsessed! Hilary is really loving the products, particularly the enhancers. We use the whole system on her to keep her hair in tip-top shape for her latest projects.” As you may remember, Duff debuted brand-new platinum locks after giving birth to her daughter, Banks Violet Bair, and switched it up again this summer with a set of boho ’70s bangs.
Capri and Lee also just introduced the light-as-air Velvet Cloud Universal Mask ($40) which they suggest using “with every wash, layered over the enhancers.”
Looks like we figured out how to make our fall hair makeover work without losing half of our precious locks.
