If you feel like Taylor Swift’s much-talked-about “Look What You Made Me Do” music video is missing something, you’re not alone. We all know it’s missing Ellen DeGeneres...in a bathtub...with Tay...smothered in diamonds. But don’t worry, your favorite comedian is still getting in on the action.
During a segment on today’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the daytime host shared a hilarious spoof “deleted scenes” from Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. DeGeneres began by discussing the video’s record-breaking 425 million-plus views and informing the audience she had a role that—unfortunately—didn’t make the cut. She said, “I was in the original because I’m part of her squad and apparently she cut me out. She’s threatened by me sometimes. Nice try, Tay Tay, because I got my hands on the real video.”
In the clip, DeGeneres sits across from Swift in the jewelry-filled bathtub and provides commentary during memorable scenes from the video. At one point, Swift picks up a telephone and says, “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, because she’s dead.” To which DeGeneres responds with, “Well, then who am I playing footsy with? Somebody’s got a little attitude today, huh?”
Fun and games aside, DeGeneres has her eyes set on the prize: “I want to get the same amount of views as Taylor, so we’re going to sit here and watch that 425 million times.”
Never change, Ellen. Never change.
