Ellen DeGeneres crashed Jennifer Lopez’s Las Vegas show, Jennifer Lopez: All I Have, to prove she’s the most dedicated understudy (despite J-Lo’s informing her she doesn’t use an understudy...multiple times).
On today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the daytime host headed to Las Vegas to fulfill her dream of becoming Lopez’s understudy. Clad in a Velcro tear-away replica of J-Lo’s iconic plunging green Versace gown, DeGeneres burst into the singer’s dressing room and said, “Thank you for letting me—for asking me to do this. Well, you didn’t ask me, I volunteered, so thank me for volunteering.”
Lopez, who was understandably confused, challenged the idea, saying, “There are no understudies in these types of shows.” But DeGeneres refused to take no for an answer and added, “You’re in denial.”
Following a series of vocal warm-ups and stretches, Lopez offered the host a compromise and promised to give “Lil Ellen” a shout-out during the show.
