Ellen DeGeneres’s 60th Birthday Party Sounds Like a Better Version of the Oscars
You guys, Ellen DeGeneres’s star-studded 60th birthday party was pretty much a Hollywood awards show…but better.
On today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the daytime host shared details on the belated birthday bash that her wife, Portia de Rossi, threw over the weekend and, damn, it’s a tough act to follow. (No offense, Academy Awards.)
In the clip, DeGeneres talks about the celebrity guest list, which included everyone from Reese Witherspoon and Chrissy Teigen to Oprah Winfrey and Don Julio (#bless). The host goes on to reveal that several musical attendees—like Pharrell Williams, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Pink and Alessia Cara—took to the stage to perform (pro bono, natch) and then she jokingly throws Oprah Winfrey under the bus for, er, frequenting the bar.
DeGeneres concludes by giving her party planner a well-deserved shout-out, saying, “Portia did the whole thing, she put the whole thing together. I love you. Thank you very much for doing that. You put on the most amazing party. It’s just a party I’ll never forget. It was a lovely, lovely evening.”
We’ll just assume our invite got lost in the mail.
