We Finally Have a First Look at Elizabeth Debicki & Dominic West as Princess Diana and Prince Charles in ‘The Crown’

Move over, Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor. Netflix just introduced us to Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana and Dominic West as Prince Charles in season five of The Crown.

The streaming platform dropped the first photos of Debicki and West in their new roles on Tuesday, and the likeness is pretty impressive.

In the snaps, West is rocking Charles’s iconic locks, sporting a suit and looking pensive on the grounds the palace, while Debicki is seen laying on a couch with her engagement ring on full display.

Production for the fifth installment began last month. The plot hasn't been confirmed yet, but since the season four finale ended with Margaret Thatcher's resignation in 1990, season five will likely continue with her successor, John Major. It's very likely that we'll see the Prince and Princess of Wales’s split play out in season five and hopefully more of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Other cast members include Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth (previously played by Olivia Colman), Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret (previously played by Helena Bonham-Carter), Jonny Lee Miller as British politician John Major and Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip (previously played by Tobias Menzies).

According to Deadline, the series will not premiere until 2022, due to the Netflix show taking a filming break (although it's not directly related to the pandemic). The exact date has yet to be released.

We’ll be staring at these photos until further notice.
