Reheated leftovers are fine and all, but what if we said you could share your midday meal with an unexpected companion...and get an eyeful of gorgeous scenery in the process?
Paragon Guides in Vail, Colorado, is making this llama lover’s dream a reality. Starting in mid-June, travelers can experience the joy of hiking and dining with llamas on one of three different tours. There’s the Arrowhead Llama Lunch (starting at $415) for a half-day hike and red-checkered-blanket picnic with your new furry friend; the Backcountry Llama Lunch (starting at $545) for a full day of hiking with the friendly pack animals; and the Wine and Cheese with Llamas tour, which is basically the half-day hike but it begins in the early afternoon and ends in the evening. (Full disclosure: Wine and cheese with any kind of animal companion sounds like our idea of heaven.)
So, you grab the hiking gear and alpaca the wine. (Sorry, had to.)
