Grape Grantham! The ‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Just Released a Wine Collection (and It’s Surprisingly Affordable)

"What is a weekend?" the Dowager Countess once asked. Might we add, "What is a weekend…without wine?"

Downton Abbey wine, that is. Ready thy crystal glasses, because Focus Features, in partnership with Lot18, has launched a line of themed wines based on our favorite Masterpiece-TV-series-turned-movie.

In honor of the Downton Abbey movie, out September 20 (not like we're freaking out, or anything…), Lot18 and Focus Features created a Downton Abbey Sparkling Rosé from Val de Loire, a 2018 Downton Abbey Bordeaux Blanc and a 2018 Downton Abbey Bordeaux Rouge

According to the tasting notes, the sparkling rosé is medium-bodied and contains bright, red fruit aromas blending notes of ripe raspberry and delicate mountain strawberry, florals and refreshing acidity. The Bordeaux Blanc has white grapefruit and lemon flavors that are punctuated by lemongrass with a crisp, dry finish, while the Bordeaux Rouge has rich notes of  blackberry and blackcurrant.

The three bottles each are packaged with a gorgeous gold embossed label that shows a picture of the Abbey along with the coat of arms of the Crawley family, including two stags and a crown. The banner beneath the crest reads "D.A."

The wines will only be available in limited quantities and in stores at World Market for $15 each.

To quote the great Dowager Countess (aka Maggie Smith) one more time: “You’ll find there’s never a dull moment in this house"…especially with wine involved.
