Wait! Don’t Throw Away Those Eclipse Glasses Just Yet

Total Solar Eclipse 2017 was gone in the blink of an eye, and we see you about to toss your super fashionable eclipse glasses. Stop what you’re doing! They can have a much better second life.

Of course, you could hoard them until the 2024 eclipse…or you can donate your specs to Astronomers Without Borders, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing people together through astronomy. The organization is gathering the glasses for future eclipses, and distributing them around the world.

The best part? Your glasses will go to underprivileged schools in South America and Asia for the 2019 eclipse, giving much-needed aid to STEM education programs.
