In our dreams, we have a designated office space with an antique desk and dignified world globe atop it. But seeing as to how our "desk" is actually a throw pillow on our sofa, we'll be capturing some of that studious, old-worldy charm via a nifty craft project instead. Meet the vintage globe pendant. DIYs for these upcycled lighting fixtures have been taking our Pinterest feeds by storm, and it's easy to see why: They're pretty darn adorable.

Of the many tutorials we came across across, blogger Lauren Easby's chic white adaptation was, hands down, our favorite. Using a $7 thrift store globe, she seamlessly used a boxcutter and lighting kit to create a statement lighting fixture for her living room. Honestly? It seems like a super straightforward DIY! Head over to her blog Red Ember for the tutorial.

Love the whimsical look but not big on the whole DIY thing? Psst: You can buy 'em—this one is available through Etsy seller Whisky Ginger. (We won't tell if you won't.)
