New ‘Dead to Me’ Season 2 Trailer Picks Up Right Where Season 1’s Cliffhanger Left Off
Dead to Me is returning to Netflix for season two, and this first-look trailer proves that Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini) are in deep water.
The streaming service just dropped a 40-second trailer for the popular series and announced that the upcoming season will premiere on Friday, May 8. *Claps for new content*
In the clip, we’re reminded where the season one finale left off, with (spoiler alert!) Jen shooting and killing Judy’s husband, Steve (James Marsden), whose body is now floating in Jen’s pool.
Season two will pick up right after the cliffhanger, with Judy encouraging Jen to “stay focused on the positive.” Jen is quick to remind her that they’ve long surpassed positivity, saying, “We are not in Snow White. We are in f***ing Scarface.”
The biggest threat the new episodes present is Detective Perez (Dina Maria Riva), who is threatening to uncover their secrets. Dun dun dunnn.
According to Cardellini, season two of Dead to Me will be even more unpredictable than the first. “There are definitely going to be more secrets and more twists and turns, so we can count on that,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
Bring on the cliffhangers.
