It’s been called the “trendiest store in the world” by Forbes, but Colette, the Parisian boutique that just celebrated its 20th anniversary, is more than just a store. For many, it’s a shopping experience unlike any other, mixing haute couture with themed collections and even designer tchotchkes. And while the fashion community mourned the news of its closing this month, one New York City retailer decided to send it off in style by selling a special capsule collection.
Chelsea concept shop Story will carry a “Home for the Holidays” gift collection from Colette, marking the first and last time the boutique’s recognizable gifts are sold outside its Rue Saint-Honoré store.
From quirky candles in the Colette signature scent (black currant, jasmine and lily of the valley) to a calendar featuring artists and collaborators who once showcased at the French boutique, the collection is a nostalgic way to hang on to shopping memories. (Dibs on the “Colette Club” T-shirt.) The items are available at Story beginning today until quantities run out—which may be very, very soon, even though they’re restricting purchases to one unit per Colette item per customer.
Bon shopping, mes amours!
