Between Mandy Moore’s bob, Gabrielle Union’s piece-y cut and Hilary Duff’s ’70s bangs, 2019 has been a big year for celeb hair transformations. After today, however, those brand-new ’dos pale in comparison to Ciara’s fresh chop.
The 33-year-old “Goodies” singer traded in her waist-long natural hair for a sleek Halle Berry meets Audrey Hepburn pixie cut with micro bangs.
Just yesterday, the mom of two shared an Instagram slideshow of herself on set rocking a long voluminous pony.
She captioned the pic, “Wuddup #NY. #SetLife” with a peace sign emoji.
Today, she proved basically any hair length looks amazing on her and posted an Instagram video revealing her new look.
“Chop it awf,” she captioned the clip, adding a kissy face and smiley face emoji.
The change is so drastic that fans were quick to speculate that it must be a wig. But with that much hair, this editor isn’t convinced that’d be physically possible.
Regardless, Ciara’s chic new chop beautifully highlights her angular bone structure and really makes her face pop. On top of that, we can all agree that between raising 5-year-old Future and 2-year-old Sienna, as well as attending Harvard Business School while being a Grammy-winning artist, Ciara is probably pressed for time. And, aside from being stunning, a pixie cut is definitely a great way to shave down a grooming schedule.
Ciara is no stranger to a full hair transformation—she’s rocked braids, dreadlocks, an afro, bangs, afro puffs, twists and more. But this cropped cut is automatic, supersonic, hypnotic, funky fresh to borrow the lyrics of “1, 2 Step.”
