Stop what you’re doing: Chipotle just hired a Top Chef winner to run its new(ish) burger joint. Yep, that’s right, Richard Blais, who won the show in 2011, will soon take over the reins of Tasty Made.
Chipotle delved into the burger biz back in 2016 when it opened a single drive-through in Ohio. But since then, the chain hasn’t expanded—not to mention that it only serves only four things on the menu: burgers, fries, shakes and sodas.
Blais has more than one claim to fame: He currently heads up a Southern chain called Flip Burger Boutique, plus a high-end American restaurant in San Diego called Juniper & Ivy. Here’s to hoping that he majorly ups Chipotle’s burger game and that it’s only a matter of time before locations open in every city.
