Princess Diana’s Brother Charles Spencer Posts Extremely Rare Newspaper Clipping of 1966 Family Photo

Being the history buff that he is, Charles Spencer has countless throwback snapshots hidden away in his archives. And from posting a picture of sister Princess Diana’s teenage home to sharing an extremely rare photo of his father (during his military days), Charles isn't afraid to post these images on social media. This time around, he's shared an old newspaper clipping that dates back to the 1960s.

Earlier today, the historian shared an old family pic on Instagram which appeared in a newspaper in 1966. Charles is two years old in the snapshot, while Diana was only five at the time.

The late Princess of Wales is shown sitting in a miniature car and Charles proceeds to dump a bucket of sand over it. Just by her facial expression, she doesn’t look too pleased.

The black-and-white photograph also features their mother and father, given the royal titles Viscountess Althorp and Lord Althorp. Charles’s two older sisters, Sarah and Jane, are present as well. He wrote in the caption, “A snapshot of family life in 1966,” and even poked fun at his behavior, writing “Terrible Twos” in the list of hashtags.

This is not the first time Spencer has posted an old snapshot of his family. Back in May 2021, the 9th Earl Spencer shared a rare photo of his grandfather, Albert Spencer, standing alongside Queen Elizabeth II’s grandmother, Queen Mary.

Nice photo find, Charles.
