With no new episodes of Game of Thrones to watch, super fans of the hit series have been combing through George R.R. Martin’s books in search of season eight spoilers. The latest? Reddit user Majid Alammari claims he knows how Cersei (Lena Headey) will die and it’s definitely going to shake things up in Westeros.
The Thronie discovered an excerpt in Martin’s book A Clash of Kings that insinuates Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) will ultimately assassinate Cersei. Now, that doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise since Cersei kinda ruined Arya’s life when she killed her father and is now at the top of Arya’s kill list. But, stay with us for a sec.
During a conversation between Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill) in the book, Tyrion says, “I used to dream that one day I’d be rich enough to send a Faceless Man after my sweet sister.” Arya trained with the Faceless Men and now that Tyrion and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) are staying in Winterfell, he could easily help Arya carry out her death wish.
To be fair, another pretty convincing theory purports that Cersei will die at the hands of the Night King. Yet another claims Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) will kill his sister/lover, so her fate is really anyone’s guess.
