For years, beachy waves have reigned supreme, but the days of Texas curls have officially returned. The more polished (and high-maintenance) version of their boho West Coast cousins, Texas curls were all the rage around 201, but fell out of prominence once everyone stopped wanting to look like a Housewife or sorority girl. Interestingly enough, they’ve been making a comeback since August of this year.

The (re)emerging trend packs a punch with tight ringlets, volume to high heaven and lots of hairspray. (Think Nicole Kidman in Stepford Wives.) Here, four celebs who are following Dolly Parton’s “the higher the hair, the closer to God” mantra and rocking Texas curls.
