Camilla Parker Bowles just followed in Prince Harry’s footsteps by sitting down for a rare TV interview.
Today, the Duchess of Cornwall, 74, appeared on an episode of BBC Woman’s Hour to discuss a sensitive subject that she holds close to her heart: domestic violence. Although the installment will only air in the U.K. (not the U.S.), Clarence House shared a sneak peek of the interview on its official Instagram account.
While discussing her activism, Bowles reveals that she’s developing a plan to help future generations. “We do need a whole culture change, and I think we have to start at the beginning,” she says in the clip. “I think children at school have got to be taught respect, and I think if you can teach boys respect for girls and vice versa, we would be at the beginning of trying to solve this problem.”
Bowles explains that she was inspired by a 2016 meeting with Diana Parkes, whose daughter, Joanna Simpson, was tragically killed as a result of domestic abuse. “I was so deeply shocked,” she adds. “I don’t think in those days I really knew that much about domestic abuse because it was something that we were all brought up to be. It was a very hush-hush subject, and it was a taboo subject.”
The candid interview is right up Bowles’s alley, especially since she’s been a long-time advocate for domestic violence victims. However, the TV appearance is reminiscent of Prince Harry’s tell-all with Oprah Winfrey. In addition to discussing her charity work, Bowles touched on how it feels to know she’ll become queen consort when Prince Charles takes over the throne.
While Bowles wasn’t nearly as—*ahem*—revealing as Prince Harry, we aren’t surprised that the royal family keeps these public conversations to a minimum.
