Camilla Parker Bowles Gives Rare Look Inside Extremely Meaningful Room of Her Home

Camilla Parker Bowles was recently given a new patronage, and she used the occasion to provide fans and followers with a sneak peek inside the Morning Room at her and Prince Charles’s London residence, Clarence House.

Over the weekend, the royal family announced that the Duchess of Cornwall is now officially Patron of Silver Stories, a new program that pairs young students with elderly individuals in isolation to speak on the telephone and read them stories. Bowles shared the exciting news with a photo on the official CH Instagram account.

In the snap, we see the 74-year-old royal talking on the phone in what appears to be her home office. “The duchess enjoyed a call with some young readers earlier this week, who told HRH how much they enjoy spending time reciting stories to the older generation,” the post’s caption read. “The Duchess told Ollie and Teagan, who read to older people over the phone: ‘I am sure you help the older generation so much by reading to them. It must cheer up their days.’”

Of course, we couldn’t help but be distracted by the regal room the duchess was pictured in. Called the Morning Room, the space is one of Clarence House’s official drawing rooms and has been the reception space for many notable guests. (Not to mention, it was even the setting for Prince George’s christening portraits.)

The room features white walls with gold trim and is adorned with decor that coincides with the room’s blue theme. Bowles is seated in a stunning upholstered chair with a mid-eighteenth-century giltwood pedestal lamp to her right.

According to The Sun, (although not all pictured) the space also features the Queen Mother's personal arrangement of Royal Anchor Chelsea porcelain, mantle clocks dating back to the 1700s and a Holland & Sons desk made from exotic woods, with a foliate border and gilt-bronze rim.

These royals sure do know how to decorate.
