In the first photo, Shields is very obviously impersonating the toothpaste ad, which was taken back in 1975 (when she was around ten years old).
In the second pic, the young model is holding a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste against her cheek. She’s wearing a frilly pink blouse, while her signature brunette hair is styled in a messy updo.
Shields captioned the post: “#fbf Talk about full circle. Swipe right to see me as a #ColgatePartner in this vintage 1975 ad!” She even credited the photographer, adding, “Photograph: Richard Avedon Foundation.”
Shields isn’t the only celeb who’s been sharing old content on social media. In fact, she’s following in the footsteps of Sofia Vergara, who recently posted a video from her early modeling days.
In the clip (which was part of a Pepsi campaign), the year 1989 flashes across the screen before a 17-year-old Vergara appears on the beach. Although she’s desperate to reach a soda stand, the sand is too hot, and she’s forced to use her clothes to create a path. She wrote, “#tbt How it all began. Santa Marta, Colombia. The 80’s.”
Not much has changed.
