Brie Larson Pushed a 5,000-Pound Car While Training for ‘Captain Marvel,’ and We Have Video

If you’re going to play a superhero, you better train like a superhero.

So how exactly does award-winning actress Brie Larson get her body ready to play the most bada** female superhero of all time? Well, by pushing cars down the street of course.

The 29-year-old actress shared a glimpse into her Captain Marvel training when she posted a video on Instagram of herself pushing a nearly 5,000-pound Jeep. Yeah, we’re serious. “A training highlight - pushing @risemovement almost 5000lbs Jeep (with a full tank of gas and Alyssa behind the wheel for safety!)for 60 seconds,” she captioned the video.

In preparation for the film, Larson was training with Los Angeles celebrity trainer Jason Walsh—who has worked with stars like Alison Brie, Miles Teller and Irina Shayk. Perhaps one of the most impressive parts of the clip (besides the car pushing, duh) was how calm Larson looked while doing it.

The Room actress sported black leggings, a muscle tee and a pair of custom Captain Marvelinspired sneakers (um, so cool). But pushing cars isn’t the only thing she does to prep for the role. Back in December, she shared another video of herself, only that time she was rock climbing. “My self tape for the role of Spider-Man? Narration by Jason Walsh,” she captioned the video.

Rock climbing and pushing cars? Training to be Captain Marvel looks like some serious work.

If you need us, we’ll be getting our bodies popcorn ready for March 8.
