Motels Are Making a Comeback, and They Are Ridiculously Chic

the coachman hotel lobby

You wouldn’t dream of planning a much-needed getaway and staying at a—shudder—motel, would you? Well, you may want to reconsider because motels are the new boutique hotels. (As in, motels are being converted into fabulous, ultra-hip boutique hotels.)

Case in point: The newly renovated Coachman Hotel in Northern California that features fireside s’mores, Malin + Goetz toiletries and a Tesla electric charging station. Or why not check out the Amigo Motor Lodge in Colorado, complete with a sunroom, baltic birch bed frames and concrete countertops that Joanna Gaines herself would approve of?

And at the Burrard Hotel in Vancouver (previously known as the Burrard Motor Inn), guests can relax in a beautiful courtyard and play Ping-Pong or enjoy the high-tech firepits. So, yeah, these motels are cool as hell.

BRB, booking our next vacay (and, um, a rental car).
