Responding to calls from their membership for more STEM, Girl Scouts of the USA just unveiled 23 new badges—robotics, mechanical engineering and computer science among them.
Apparently, these skills have been deemed important and age-appropriate for even the littlest scouts (aka Daisies), which means that as soon as members are inducted, they can start working hard to get these badges under their belt vest.
We've always admired the Girl Scouts. (Heck, most of us were Girl Scouts.) But our admiration for the organization - formerly known for their work ethic and cookie-sale fundraising, just shot through the roof.
It would be a proud day for founder Juliet Gordon Low who once said “The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers."
