Surprise! Billie Lourd is now officially a mom!
The 28-year-old actress announced the birth of her first child on Thursday night, shocking countless fans who weren't even aware that she was expecting.
The Booksmart star shared a photo of her baby’s feet on Instagram and wrote, "Introducing: Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell," adding two blue hearts and a crown emoji.
The baby's middle name, "Fisher," was Lourd's sweet way of honoring her late mom, Carrie Fisher. It's also likely that Kingston's dark space pajamas, which are decorated with bright stars, are a subtle nod to Fisher's role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films.
Several celebs offered their congratulations in the comments. Kelly Ripa wrote, "Congrats! We love you so much!!! [blue heart emojis]." And actress Rumer Willis said, "Oh my goodness congratulations!!! So happy for you lovely."
The news comes three months after she and her longtime boyfriend, Austen Rydell, announced their engagement in June. To celebrate the occasion, Rydell shared a collection of their most memorable moments on Instagram and wrote, "She said YES!! (Actually she said 'Duhhh') But I guess that’s even better than yes?!?"
In the third slide, Lourd was hiding a baby bump under her yellow dress. In the video, she walks behind Rydell and waves hello for a moment, until a train passes by and makes her jump in surprise.
After the pregnancy news broke, fans revisited the comments to note that they'd initially missed this major pregnancy clue. One fan said, "Ahhhhhh!!! The baby bump was there ALL ALONG!!!!"
It's also worth noting that Lourd kept her Instagram posts to a minimum throughout her pregnancy, mostly sticking to promos and throwback pics. Meanwhile, Rydell's most recent photo of her featured a convenient close-up of her at a table, where her stomach is completely hidden. In the birthday tribute, he wrote, "Happy Birthday to my FIANCÉ @praisethelourd !! Your birthday feels like my birthday! I [heart] YOU!! Here we go!!!" Well played, guys.
