Since the moment Big Little Lies ended, everyone from our next-door neighbor to Reese Witherspoon has been hoping for a second season and speculating on what it could possibly be about. Well, now we’re one step closer to (maybe) knowing. *Spoilers ahead*
Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty shared in April that she was mulling over ideas for a second season, and she has reportedly recently completed a novella that could serve as source material.
So what’s it about, you ask? According to Deadline, Moriarty’s second little installment revolves around the main characters and envisions what happens to them in the wake of Perry’s (Alexander Skarsgård) murder death. BLL show runner David E. Kelley is currently reviewing the material to weigh its potential for the small screen. Given that the show won a whopping five Emmys on Sunday and the core cast members have all expressed their willingness to return, season two may just be a done deal.
When Madeline Martha Mackenzie puts her mind to something, it happens.
