Beyoncé Celebrated Her 36th Bey Day with a Cake Literally Fit for a Queen
Beyoncé celebrated her 36th Bey Day (otherwise known as a birthday to us plebeians) at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Sunday with a casual serenade from hubby Jay-Z and the most regal birthday cake we've ever seen.
Being away from home and all, the b-day girl's team went to great lengths to ensure the day went off without a hitch (no pressure, right?) and dreamt up a deliciously genius idea that can only be described as a dessert masterpiece fit for, well, Beyoncé.
According to Philly Magazine, Lily Fischer and Nima Etemadi, the owners of Cake Life Bake Shop, received a mysteriously secretive request last week for a geode-themed cake—a style the shop is famous for—in a black-and-yellow color scheme. Like all of us, Fischer and Etemadi are Queen Bey fangirls and put the puzzle pieces together: Bey’s favorite colors, the date and the fact that the delivery location was backstage at Made in America.
The end result was a honey (buzzzzz) and lavender three-tiered confectionary dream. It was decorated with black fondant, white and yellow sugar crystals and topped with a gold, fan-like crown inspired by Beyoncé’s iconic 2017 Grammy performance.
Let them eat (Bey Day) cake!
