Dua Lipa Is the Best New Artist at the 2019 Grammy Awards

In 2017, it was Chance the Rapper. In 2018, it was Alessia Cara. And now, the Grammys committee has crowned a brand-new up-and-comer.

During tonight’s 61st annual ceremony, Dua Lipa won the highly coveted Grammy Award for Best New Artist.

She was up against Chloe x Halle, Luke Combs, Greta Van Fleet, H.E.R., Dua Lipa, Margo Price, Bebe Rexha and Jorja Smith.

The Grammys first debuted the Best New Artist category back in 1959. Previous winners include Alessia Cara, Chance the Rapper, Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis, Fun and Bon Iver.
